Maryland-based, multimedia artist Sarah N Blocher has explored the art of “making” since she was a child. A Theatrical Design graduate of Dickinson College, she has worked with a wide range of theatre artists across the country including scenic designers, costume designers, and directors. In her eight years of theatrical education and experience she has worked with the mediums of carpentry, drawing, painting, textiles, welding, and digital rendering. Over the last four years she has grown her multimedia portfolio by combining some of her favorite techniques: recycling, drawing, and embroidery. In 2020 she launched her business, Outbox Designs, with a heavy focus on environmentally friendly, innovative creations meant to inspire the viewer’s imagination. All of her quirky and whimsical pieces, including their packaging, utilize recycled and natural materials. If someone looks at her art and smiles, or has their imagination stirred, even for a second, she feels she has done her job.
